The Pit Stop Cars & Coffee

It’s been a nice change of pace attending more meets this year. This time I found myself heading out to Penitas, TX for an early morning Cars & Coffee hosted by the guys at Boosted Junkie. These guys have been doing work on some incredible cars out that way, finalizing their shop with titanium exhaust kits on the shelf, as well as an in-house dyno (AWD soon). So I figured the turnout would have a bit of everything from exotics, imports, and more.

Sometimes you forget how big, and small, the RGV can be. But honestly a thirty-five minute drive isn’t so bad when you have some good coffee. Ok, I know I was heading to a “cars & COFFEE”, but I seem to need caffeine sooner than later haha. I pulled up on the early side, but cars were already packing the east side of the lot. Right off the bat I ran into Chris, who did a chrome delete on my Civic a while back and is now part of BoostedJunkieWraps. Again, these guys seem to be doing it all. I made my way to the far west lot to give others some time to show up, not everyone is an early bird I guess. I spotted an old neighbor (tx_dz34) with his Z1 Motorsports Supercharged 370z. Like I said, the RGV can be both big and small. A while back I would see Jose outside working on the install. Bumper off, bumper on, car on jack stands, wheels back off, wheels on. Kinda dumb on my part to never swing by and grab some photos of it all haha. But it was great to see it all finished up and in person after some time.

The morning I ran into more familiar faces and felt the cold front roll in, which was pretty damn nice. However, next time I know to keep my entire morning AND afternoon free. Turns out more cars showed up past noon based on some photos I saw later in the day. Y’all really should try going early to a cars & coffee….just sayin’ haha. All jokes aside, it’s been great seeing how saturated the car community is with events lately. It almost feels like there’s something to check out at least once a week! While I can’t make it to every single event, you all can be sure to swing by the “reposted” section on our Instagram page to see flyers for upcoming events. Hopefully I’ll be making my way out to Penitas a bit more to see more of what these guys have in the works, and I REALLY need to shoot that TT R8.
