Vamos Cars & Coffee

________________________________
It’s been a while, mostly because it’s too damn hot during the summer so I tend to stay indoors. Who am I kidding, it feels this way year-round down here. But, for the past few weeks I had seen a flyer circulating from the Sèier Car Club RGV so I made sure to add it in my calendar, and loved the fact that it actually started early. Not sure why so many down here like starting their “Cars and Coffee” at 11am haha, but here we are.

Always the early bird, I showed up around 7:45 and after realizing I was the only one there aside from Ali and his Aston Martin. While I knew there’d be coffee, I’m still keeping it out of my morning routine, so I walked down the street to a local spot for my morning drink replacement- a strawberry matcha. Say what you will about the green stuff, it’s honestly been a nice change, not like I have much say in the matter.
While my wife and I were out getting out drinks down the street, I bumped into someone I figured would be making their way over, the import car tee was a dead giveaway. Courtney and I talked a bit, and it was still too early for me to register certain things, but I’m sure he mentioned hearing about the event on an app OR that he had shared the app. Either way, this was the second person who’s mentioned an app called “Meets” for the car community. A simplified way to find out what car meet ups are happening around your area, and while you have to create a “car club” on there to be able to post, you can still view the map and see what’s coming up or happening soon. Would be cool if caught on here in the RGV, so I’ll be downloading this week and sharing flyers that get sent my way!
By the time we made our way back, I spotted Geovanni and Andy with their BMW’s, an Audi. Eventually the lot started to fill up, like I said, the Valley tends to start things late haha. While Kairos Coffee started pumping out drinks, and the food truck was getting everyone their breakfast fix, I made the rounds and catching up with a few people there. It was a chill morning, great cars, and of course trying to stick to the shaded areas. Lookin’ forward to the next local event!
