Edwards 5th Annual Cars & Coffee

________________________________
Turns out January is a pretty busy month for events! If you follow the Instagram page, you’ll notice there’s been a good amount of event flyers I’ve been sharing – and while I don’t get to attend every one of them, it’s great seeing the surge here in the Rio Grande Valley. This event, however, has been on my calendar for a while now. Not only because it’s so close to me, but because each year it manages to get an even larger turnout.

I drove up at 9am thinking I was early, only to find that most of the parking spots had already been completely filled. But that worked out as the civic was dirty anyways, so I made my way over to the far west end. I started walking down towards the main event building, to find a lineup of Mustangs, followed by the RGV Porsche Club, a crazy group of lifted Broncos, some of the Weekend Warriors, and then a variety of awesome vehicles parked right up front.

After grabbing a few photos in the main lot, I was stopped by an Officer Rodriguez (Prime), who I found out got pretty lucky by getting assigned to patrol the event. I joked about the fact that there weren’t any “take over kids” from what I had seen so far and we talked a bit about how unfortunately these are starting to happen in the RGV. But I don’t want to put a damper on a great event, so that’s a conversation for later. I started walking around the event and started getting to “work”. There was a handful of cars I recognized, and was really awesome to see that events like this bring out some new rides I haven’t seen.

Throughout the morning I caught up with a few people I recognized, met a few new ones, grabbed an “Energy by Edwards” (these guys have their own energy drink haha!), and before leaving I had to grab some Girl Scout cookies. Which by the way, their new Exploremores are insane. This marked the 5th Annual Cars & Coffee event hosted by Edwards Abstract & Title Company, and these are the type of events our community needs- I mean even Mayor Ochoa stopped by. Thanks again to everyone involved in continuing to make this event happen, and I’m hoping that next year I’ll be able to get a few minutes with them to get a little history on these events.

Huge Thanks to
Edwards Abstract and Title Co.
