Terra Cafe’s Cars & Coffee

There’s nothing better than spending a morning grabbing some coffee and checking out some local cars. It’s also great when a local business gives the automotive community a space to get together like this. Crazy what can happen if you keep things chill, bizarre concept – I know.

This past weekend the fine people of Terra Cafe hosted their first (or second) Cars & Coffee event. I think they had previously hosted an evening type of meet, or maybe it was a more spread out time frame? Either way, this time around they went for an early meet and it was a pretty great turnout. Every spot was packed with everything from RHD JDM cars, bass bumping trucks, exotics, and an insane lineup of BMW’s.
I made my way around the area to start capturing some photos. And after getting my Valentine’s Day themed drink, I’m a sucker for a chocolate covered strawberry latte, I did another lap to take notes of some of the rides out there. There’s a ton of amazing cars popping up lately, and that also means there’s some great stories to tell too. I can’t wait to get these features started up for 2026! But for now, heading out to as many events as I can to get a feel for what’s out there has been great.
I also ended up hanging with my buddy Rick. And it was crazy to think that 15 years ago we came up with this concept for featuring and documenting the local automotive culture in the RGV. As it goes anytime two “old timers” get together, it was a lot of cracking jokes about how things used to be down here. How fast we used to think cars were back then compared to what they’re able to do now. Realizing how far things have come, while still being familiar. I joke about how I missed some big group buy on a Porsche because they’re everywhere now. But while those cars are clearly in a different category than say a 30 year old Honda, at the end of the day I don’t think it makes that much of a difference, at least not here – and at least not with these people.
The increase in how many local meets there have been lately is ultimately about this need to be connected. While it can be about driving out to show off your latest set of wheels, or performance upgrade – it’s also about seeing what else is out there.
Huge Thanks to
Terra Cafe Co
